1420621 Wagon tipplers STRACHAN & HENSHAW Ltd 16 April 1973 [20 April 1972] 18476/72 Heading B8E A wagon tippler comprises arcuate end frames 2 connected to the ends of a wagon receiving track 20, which is supplied with a wagon by side-arm charger 50 having a coupler arm 52, and means for rotating the end frames to discharge the wagon. The end frames 2 rest on rollers 4 and are rotated by pinions 10 which engage racks 12 on the frames. Each end of the track 20 is pivoted, with play, to a lug 38 on a J-shaped beam 24 one end of which is pivoted at. 30 to a link 26 pivoted at 28 to the respective end frame 2, and the other end of which carries a roller 31 which, in the start position of the tippler, rests on a shoulder 32 on the end frame. The end track 20 also carries rollers 40, 42 which rest on profiled blocks 44, 46 to support the track prior to rotation of the tippler. During initial rotation, the rollers 40, 42 run on the blocks 44, 46 to tilt the wagon against pads 58 carried by a beam 27 connected to the beams 24 so as to cause the rollers 31 to run along tracks 34 on the end frames 2 to position the wagon against pads 62 on a support 64 pivoted to a beam 18 secured to the end-frames 2. With the wagon thus held rotation is completed. In a second embodiment, Fig. 5, the pads 58 are secured to a beam 76 secured to the endframes 2, and the support 64 is pivoted to a beam 80 carried by arms 82 pivoted to the endframes and connected to levers 84 carrying followers 86 which engage ramps 88 to hold the support 64 in a raised position. During rotation of the tippler, the followers 86 move along the ramps 88 to allow the pads 62 to descend on to the wagon. At the same time pivotal locking pawls 100 on the end frames rotate and engage a rack 104 on each arm 82 to hold it against movement caused by the weight of the inverted wagon. On return of the tippler the pawls are released by ramps 106.
