Abstract

1418882 Packaging insulating material CAPE INSULATION Ltd 4 Jan 1973 [24 Jan 1972] 3188/72 Heading B8C The volume of resiliently compressible thermal insulation comprising ceramic, refractory, rock wool, glass wool or slag wool fibres in the form of loose wool, slabs, rolled mats or pipe sections is reduced during storage and transport by placing the insulation in a flexible plastics bag or sleeve, extracting the air to cause compressive reduction of the insulation, inserting the package formed into a further flexible sleeve or bag of plastics and causing or allowing the package to expand and fill the outer sleeve or bag, the completed pack still being of less volume than the original volume of the insulation. The plastics material of the sleeves or bags may be polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride or a polyester.
