Abstract

1418634 Clamps PLASTIC SEALS Ltd 10 Jan 1973 [14 Jan 1972] 1964/72 Heading E2B A clamping device for electric cables &c comprises blocks 1, 2 moulded from a synthetic plastics material and hingedly interconnected for movement from a mutually open position to a mutually closed position to trap a cable between them, the blocks being provided with locking means 7a, 8a to retain the blocks in closed position. The blocks have depressions 4 which in the closed position of the blocks define a tortuous cable-receiving passage to grip the cable whereby longitudinal movement of the cable is prevented. Slots 10 serve to retain the clamp in an aperture in a member; alternatively, the clamp is contoured to permit the clamp to be pushed axially and with a snap action into an aperture, or is provided with an integral or separate anchor strap such as described in U.K. Specification 1253986, or one or both blocks is or are provided with an aperture for reception of a nail &c, or the clamp is affixed to a member by a self-adhesive layer, tape or impact adhesive. One or more of the surfaces 4, 5 and 6 may be serrated, toothed or ribbed.
