Abstract

A decorative strap clip that keeps straps together comprises a pair of jaws linked by a hinge 4 and secured by a catch 5. The jaws define a channel 3 for the straps and formations 2 effect grip. The strap clip can be attached to a variety of straps of different purposes and used in a decorative manner. It can be used as a single unit or many can be joined together.

Description

DECORATIVE STRAP CLIP
This invention is a decorative strap clip that primarily holds together two straps but can also be used to accessories various strap/s (of various uses). The decorative strap clip is design to keep together a strap, such as a strap of an under garment, to a strap of a top garment (of clothing) and stops the two items moving apart. The invention can also be used in a decorative maimer to accessories other straps such as various clothing straps, bag straps, belts, dog/cat (animal) collars/leads and all other items where the invention holds a strap in a commercial, industrial and/or technical manner. It can be used as a single unit or as many units on a single strap and single units can be joined together by means of various materials.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the inside of the clothing strap clip. Number 1 is the front of the invention that is designed to be flat. No. 2 shows the raised teeth' which purpose is to grip the strap to stop movement of the strap clip on the strap. The teeth inside the groove can vary from the drawing to suit material and durability. No. 3 shows the groove that runs through the invention that allows the strap to fit inside the invention and thus the clip to close shut without trouble of the strap buckling. The groove may have a uneven edge or can be smooth depending on the material of the straps that it is to hold to enhance its gripping power. No.4 shows the hinge. The hinge shown in Figure 1 is designed in such a way that it can be changed in design to suit the material it is made from. The hinge for this invention can be made in one piece (as Figure 1), of the same material as No. 4 so that the unit is made as a whole unit or with interlocking arms and pin so that the unit is made in two parts. No. 5 shows the closing mechanism. This incorporates an indentation/grove that is on the outside edge of the invention that allows the user to pop-open (praise/pull apart) the clip, which is also shown in Figure 2, No. 7. The back of the invention, shown as No. 6, has smooth edges to its diameter as it makes contact with the skin. The back of the invention is designed not to be flat and has angled edges but to be concaved and smooth. No. 8 represents the front of the invention to which various designs can be added to improve its appearance. No. 8 is a hoop (optional to design) that allows more than one unit to be joined together by means of various materials. No. 9 is an optional disk (shaped to that of the invention) that can be attached to the front of the invention, No. 1, and can be attached to the invention by means of glue or prqtruding nipples (or any other type of fixing' that attaches No. 9 to No. 1). No. 10 shows the inside of the invention, which is of smooth finish so that the clip closes together.
Figure 2, No. 6 shows a smooth finish to the underside surface which is slightly concave in design and is to have no angles to its edges unless the invention/s shape is to be change according to overall design. No. 7 shows an indentation on the side of the invention that allows it to be opened. All other numbers in Figure 2 are described in Figure 1.
Figure 3 shows the groove that allows a strap to pass though the invention. It also shows the gripping mechanism or teeth/claws that lie in the groove that stops the invention moving on the strap/s. The size (width and depth) of the groove/cut-out may be altered to fit various strap widths. All other numbers in Figure 3 are described in Figures 1 and 2.
