Abstract

1418580 Storing weft RUTI MACHINERY WORKS LTD 18 June 1973 [16 June 1972] 28904/73 Heading D1E In a temporary weft store weft is blown by an air injector 16 into a loop 17 of which one limb 17' is not acted on by the air stream, to facilitate withdrawal of the loop on weft insertion. The air stream and weft may be directed between opposed elongate plates 25, 26, open at 27 along one side to allow withdrawal of the loop and so that limb 17' may be outside of the air stream. Supplementary air jets 29 and slots 28 in the opposite side of member 25 may be provided to ensure that the limb 17 of the loop remains within member 25. The member 25 may be curved in a horizontal plane into an arced configuration, (Fig. 5, not shown). The store may be used on a water or air jet loom or on one with rapier or gripper shuttle weft insertion.
