141,781. Burwell, W., Myers, R. P., and Pronk, E. Itterson-. Dec. 23, 1918. Cabin and deck lights.- In glazing or securing glass in metal objects and structures, such as liquid-level gauges for steam boilers, ship's port lights, &c., the glass is bevelled at its edges and secured 'by packing pressed against the bevel, fracture of the glass due to expansion being prevented by partly or wholly insulating the glass from direct contact with the metal. In a gauge for a boiler or other liquid container, the glass 9 is secured by an apertured member 6 carrying a projecting part 7 which presses the jointing-material against the bevelled edges of the glass. The glass may be parallel-sided and of plane, curved, or other section, and the holders are bolted or otherwise secured, or they may be integral with the objects or structures to which they are applied.
