Abstract
1417265 Donning and doffing EUGEN MAIER METALLVERARBEITUNG GmbH 20 Nov 1973 [29 Dec 1972] 53775/73 Heading DID A travelling bobbin changing carriage comprises a yarn separation device and a yarn end retaining device 12 arranged between the spindle and the yarn separation device to retain a yarn end severed from a full bobbin, the yarn end retaining device being movable at least partly in the opposite direction to and at substantially the same speed as the bobbin changing apparatus. As shown, when a package is doffed, the yarn end from the transfer tail is caught in the endless brush 11 and the end from the spindle is retained when the end is cut free from the package. The yarn end retaining device may be a pneumatic device a spriral suction duct, a pad or worm with a roughened surface or bristles. A cleaning device 20 may remove fibres from the brush.
