Abstract

1417125 Packaging cones for ice-cream; internal caps T N CUMMINGS 7 Dec 1972 [22 Dee 1971] 56512/72 Headings B8C and B8T A frozen confection having a conical side surface and a convex end surface is packaged in a paper wrapper provided with an outwardly domed plastics closure which is secured to the inside of the wrapper to make the wrapper more rigid. As shown, the package comprises an ice-cream cone product, including a conical sugar cone 11 and ice-cream 13, contained within a paper cone 18 which is closed by a cover 22 of transparent plastics having a flange 24 mating with the interior of the open end of the paper cone 18. The cover 22 is secured by engagement with a rolled-on portion 27 of the cone 18, or with internal projections thereon, or by a force fit, or by heat-sealing the flange to the cone 18. The cone 18 includes a tear tab 20.
