Abstract

The container serves to hold an ice cream pack, primarily a conical ice cream cone. A lid is fitted to close the cone opening of the container. The container and lid are made of a liquid-tight, transparent material to make the ice cream pack visible to the customer. In order to improve handling, there is at least one predetermined breaking line (6) between the two cone ends along a circumferential line of the cone shell.

Description

  • The invention relates to a container in the shape of a cone for receiving an ice cream pack, primarily a conical ice cream cone with a fitted lid that closes the opening of the cone end, the container and lid being made of liquid-tight material.
  • A container of the type just mentioned is known from US-PS 3,170,568. It, as well as the associated lid, are made in one piece from paper impregnated with wax, which is optionally laminated on one side with a plastic layer. The material is opaque, but liquid-tight.
  • In the circular opening of the wide cone end, the lid is attached using a thermoactive adhesive in order to achieve a hermetic seal.
  • Containers of the type just mentioned are used to prefabricate ice cream at the factory, to transport it to the dealer and to keep it there until it is sold. The container serves as a protective cover for the ice cream pack. It keeps dirt away from it and prevents the ice cream from accidentally escaping from the container. The container also stabilizes the ice pack due to its rigid cone shape. It absorbs minor impacts and prevents any damage to an ice cream cone inside. At the same time, the container forms an insulating sleeve for the Ice pack, which, provided that the lid is still in place, keeps the ice cream cool for a certain time.
  • For consumption, the lid is removed and the entire ice cream pack is removed from the container.
  • The outside of the container and the lid can be provided with advertising.
  • The present invention has for its object to improve the container of the type mentioned while maintaining its advantages so that it is more customer-friendly both when buying and when consuming the ice pack.
  • This object is achieved in that there is at least one predetermined breaking line between the two cone ends along a circumferential line of the cone shell, and in that the material is transparent.
  • The container according to the invention has all the advantages of the known. It forms a stable protective cover around the ice cream pack, so that it is optimally protected during transport and at the dealer.
  • When it comes to sales, it has the great advantage that, due to the transparent material, the customer has a clear view of the ice cream pack itself. So it cannot be irritated by the advertising on the outside of the container. He does not have to be satisfied with a photograph of the ice pack inside, he sees the original. He can immediately assess whether he wants to buy and consume the ice cream contained in the container. The outside of the ice cream pack can be provided with pictures, inscriptions, etc. she can have a paper or cardboard sleeve or the well-known ice cream cone. The outside of the latter can also be provided with inscriptions and pictures which the customer sees through the transparent container shell. It is particularly advantageous if colored or black-and-white printed or embossed ice cream cones are arranged on the outside of the container according to the invention. Both the print and the embossing are clearly visible from the outside and look impressive.
  • The container according to the invention offers the customer not only advantages when buying, but also when consuming. This is because he can open and separate the container in the area of his cone shell and, if desired, remove the upper or lower part of the container. Usually he will remove the upper part of the container. In this case, he can leave the lower part of the container on the ice cream pack. It then serves as a handle and also as a protective cover for the pack. The warmth of the holding hand is not easily transferred to the package, so that it thaws later in the lower part. This is particularly important for children, because they sometimes do not consume the ice so quickly and it happens again and again that ice that has become liquid drips down. The lower part of the container prevents premature thawing and softening of the cone tip of the ice pack. At the same time, it protects the tip of an ice cream cone, which is sensitive to breakage. However, the part of the ice cream pack above the predetermined breaking line is freely accessible for consumption.
  • The predetermined breaking line can be pre-embossed in the material. On it, the material is deliberately made thinner or less tear-resistant in order to enable the container parts to be detached.
  • The container can, for example, be separated from one another along the predetermined breaking line by gripping it with both hands on the left and right of the predetermined breaking line and twisting the two parts against one another. Due to the torsion, the container tears open at the predetermined breaking line, whereby the desired container part can be removed.
  • The container according to the invention surprisingly fulfills two mutually opposite objectives. It conveys advantages to the manufacturer, since it ensures that the pre-made ice cream pack contained therein can be transported safely and kept in stock. The manufacturer also has the option of showing the customer the actual product, namely the ice cream pack, directly.
  • The advantage of the customer is that he can see exactly what he is buying and that the container enables him to gradually enjoy the ice pack.
  • In an advantageous development of the invention it is provided that the material consists of a transparent film. The film can be rolled or folded in a variety of ways to form the container. It can advantageously be made of plastic and be relatively stiff and at the same time relatively flexible. The stiffness and flexibility determine the protective effect of the container. It is supposed to be able to absorb minor impacts, that is to say to deform slightly, and on the other hand to be so stiff that the ice cream pack contained in the container is not damaged. At the same time, the rigidity and flexibility determine the behavior of the container when it is opened. There is a wish that the container material is not so stiff that it comes loose after loosening Do not allow the container halves to be easily removed from the predetermined breaking line.
  • To make it easier to release and separate the container, it is possible to provide a handle above and below the predetermined breaking line. For example, it can be formed by a protruding film edge. However, it is also possible to shape it as an independent tab according to another development of the invention.
  • The container according to the invention can advantageously be formed simply in that its conical shape is formed by a blank whose connecting sides overlap, the connecting sides being fastened to one another in the overlapping area by means of a transparent adhesive.
  • The transparent adhesive ensures that the mutual attachment of the connection sides in the overlap area does not interfere optically.
  • The same applies to the fastening of the lid in the cone opening of the container. It can also be glued in there using a transparent adhesive.
  • According to an advantageous development, the container can be produced simply and quickly by means of a blank which has approximately the shape of a triangle, a triangular side being approximately formed by an arc of a circle. The area of overlap extends approximately in the direction of a generating one, from the tip of the cone to its base.
  • In an advantageous development of the invention, two can be used to form a release strip in the container wall Break lines are provided in the conical surface, which are spaced z. B. are arranged parallel to each other. The release strip can have a handle for gripping. It can be located, for example, in the overlap area and can be designed as a projecting tongue on one of the two connection sides.
  • In order to be able to open the container even more conveniently, a predetermined breaking line can be arranged near the cover and parallel to it. If such a predetermined breaking line is combined with such a line in the middle of the height of the cone, the entire upper container parts can be removed in a wide strip. The predetermined breaking line closer to the lid can be formed, for example, by the lid adhesive itself.
  • If, according to a favorable further development of the invention, a predetermined breaking line is arranged approximately in the middle of the height of the cone, there is the possibility of assigning the upper container part, that is to say the one with the base of the cone, as a stand for the ice pack and for the lower container part with the tip use. If you place the upper part of the container with the base on a base surface, the ice pack together with the lower part of the container can be inserted and placed in the opening through the opening when dividing the container along the predetermined breaking line.
  • Exemplary embodiments are described below using a drawing.
  • Show it:
    • FIG. 1 shows a blank for a first embodiment of the container with a predetermined breaking line approximately in the middle of the height of the cone and an optional second predetermined breaking line in the lid area,
    • FIG. 2 shows the side view of a fully molded container according to the invention and a lid that fits it,
    • FIG. 3 shows the side view of a salable container with a lid fastened in the cone opening and an ice cream pack located therein,
    • FIG. 4 shows the top view of a blank of a further embodiment with a release strip running approximately in the middle of the height of the cone,
    • Figure 5 is a side view of a finished, closed container according to the second embodiment of Figure 4 and
    • Figure 6 is a side view of a container according to the invention, the cone of which has been horizontally separated into an upper and a lower part in standing form, the container part with the cone opening standing on a base area and forming a stand for the remaining container part and the ice pack.
  • FIG. 1 shows a blank 1 for a first embodiment of the invention. The blank is approximately triangular in shape, two of these sides 2 and 3 being of equal length and representing connecting sides which, when the cone is formed, lie one above the other and are fastened to one another in an overlap region 4 shown in FIG.
  • The third side of the triangle is formed approximately by an arc 5, which later represents the opening of the cone, that is to say its base, in the finished container. Parallel to this circular arc, the blank has a first predetermined breaking line 6 in the later height center of the cone. In the case shown, it runs along the horizontal circumferential line of the cone in the standing container of FIG. 2. However, it can also be skewed to the section plane defined with it or form any other formation if desired.
  • The blank 1 of FIG. 1 optionally shows a further predetermined breaking line 7, which runs approximately parallel to the circular arc 5 and is at a relatively short distance from it. In the finished container according to FIG. 2, this optional predetermined breaking line 7 runs in the region of the opening of the cone, that is to say where a cover 8, also shown in FIG. 2, is arranged in the finished container.
  • To produce the container according to FIG. 2, the blank is rolled such that the overlap region runs approximately along one of the cone's generatrices, ie approximately in a straight line from the cone tip 9 to the base 10. In the overlap area, the connection sides of the blank are made using a clear adhesive attached to each other.
  • The lid has the shape of a truncated cone and its diameter is adapted to the base 10 of the container 11 so that it closes the container in the region of the cone opening and can also be fastened therein, for example, with a transparent adhesive.
  • The predetermined breaking line 6 divides the container into a lower half 12 and an upper 13. The division takes place approximately in the middle of the height of the cone. In the present exemplary embodiment, a handle 14 in the form of a projecting tab is arranged on the connection side 2 above the predetermined breaking line 6. It serves to loosen the predetermined breaking line and to remove the upper container part 13.
  • The container 11 according to the invention serves to hold an ice cream pack 15, as is shown for example in FIG. 3. It consists of a conical ice cream cone, which contains the actual ice cream inside. In the present case, the container is made of a liquid-tight material, namely a transparent plastic film 18. As a result, the ice cream pack is advantageously visible from the outside.
  • The film material is relatively stiff and at the same time relatively flexible in order to ensure adequate protection for the ice cream pack, but at the same time not to make it difficult to remove the container for eating the ice pack.
  • The lid 8 is made of the same material and is in turn glued into the cone opening of the container with a transparent adhesive. The gluing can advantageously be designed as a predetermined breaking line in order to simplify the detachment of the upper container part 13 and, if necessary, to make it more comfortable.
  • FIG. 5 shows a further embodiment of the invention, in which two predetermined breaking lines 6, 19 are arranged approximately parallel to the center of the height of the cone and so that they run horizontally on a circumferential line of the cone at a short distance from one another in such a way that a release strip is formed which is formed by means of a Handle 16 is gripped and can be subtracted in order to divide the container into an upper and a lower half.
  • FIG. 6 shows an arrangement in which the upper container part 13 serves as a stand for the lower container part 12. After separation, the upper container part 13 is pulled off the lower container part and placed with the base side 5 on a contact surface 17. After it is a truncated cone, it is possible to insert the other, namely lower, container part 12 through its smaller, upward-facing opening and to place it in it.
  • This possibility exists regardless of whether the upper container part 13 is still provided with the lid or not. One option was shown in the lower left half of the container, the other in the right half.
  • The container according to the invention has various advantages. The customer can see the ice pack before buying it. To open the container, it is sufficient if it divides the container along a predetermined breaking line, one half of the container primarily removes the upper one, and the remaining half of the container initially remains.
