Abstract
1416879 DC - DC converters PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 14 Dec 1972 [17 Dec 1971] 57684/72 Heading H2F In a flyback EHT and sawtooth current generator for TV apparatus and including switching means which is periodically non- conducting during a flyback period # and conducting during a scan period T-#, and a network having input terminals connected to the switching means, said network including a transformer having a primary winding and a secondary winding feeding an EHT rectifier, the network having, during the flyback period, first and second resonant frequencies which are substantially equal to where for the first and second resonant frequencies respectively, K = 1 and > 1 and S is the S correction factor, the network having a minimum input impedance at a frequency between the first and second frequency and substantially equal to where n is an integer. The higher value of K is preferably 3 (third harmonic tuning). The Specification describes line deflection and EHT generators similar to those disclosed in Specification 1,392,511. The resulting minimising of scan oscillations is said to be less dependent on component tolerances. Fig. 3 (not shown) shows the effect of integer n on the shape of the flyback pulse. n is preferably = 7.
