Abstract

141,612. Akhoona, D. J. Oct. 3, 1919. Mechanical systems, automatic; track apparatus for stopping trains and actuating track contacts.-Brake valves on a train are operated by engagement of a lever with a bar b, b<1>, which lies parallel with the rails and is raised by cam surfaces on its under edge which rest on rollers g fixed on the track The bars b, b<1> are connected by chains to a plunger d jointed to a lever c pivoted on the track and depressed by a roller carried by the locomotive. On depression of the lever e by a train moving from the right to left of Fig. 1, the bar b<1> is lowered and the bar b is raised to stop a train approaching from the left.
