Abstract
1416110 Tube mill liners T E NORMAN 27 Dec 1973 59887/73 Heading B2A A tube mill liner comprises strips or bars 22 of harder material alternating with strips 23 of softer material with means to maintain the bars and strips in alternating relation so that in use the bars and strips wear differentially producing a corrugated surface contour. The bars may be of hardened alloy steel and the strips of e.g. rubber or both may be of rubber. The bars and strips are bonded e.g. by vulcanisation in an autoclave, to each other and to a backing plate 24 Fig. 2 of e.g. low carbon steel. Bolts 11 secure the liner, via rectangular slots Fig. 7. Wear results in the wave formation, Fig. 5. For rod mills a high wave configuration is used, Fig. 11 with bars 35, 36, 41 and strips 37, 38, 40. The ends of the mill may be lined with a low wave configuration Figs. 13 and 14 (not shown). The plates may be secured by anchored capscrews.
