Abstract

PURPOSE: To supply fine particulate granular ice of a uniform grain size by housing the granular ice crushed to a coarse particulate form by a primary ice crusher into the circumferential grooves of grooved drums of a secondary ice crusher and finely crushing the same by the crushing projections in the circumferential direction of the drums. CONSTITUTION: This ice crusher is provided with the primary ice crusher for crushing ice lumps to a coarse particulate form and the secondary ice crusher II for crushing the coarse particulate granular ice supplied from the primary ice crusher to the fine particulate form. The secondary ice crusher II is provided with the grooved drum 61 having the plural large approximately circumferential grooves 63 at a prescribed pitch on its outer periphery and the crushing drum 62 provided with the crushing projections 66 having the front ends facing the large approximately circumferential grooves 63 via prescribed clearances apart prescribed intervals in the circumferential direction. Further, rotational driving means rotate both drums in the directions reverse from each other in the direction where the coarse particulate granular ice supplied between both drums 61 and 62 is included between both drums. Consequently, the supply of the fine particulate granular ice of the uniform grain size is made possible and the supply thereof to, for example, a cement plant or the like is possible.
