Abstract
141,366. Tully, R. W. April 25, 1918, [Convention date]. Theatrical appliances.-Relates to a stage device for producing the effect of drifting fog or smoke. The apparatus is shown in plan in Fig. 2. A gauze curtain 4, placed across the proscenium, is illuminated by footlights 9 ; and lamps 15 - - 19 shine through transparent openings representing windows &c. in drop scenes 6, 7. The footlights 9 are arranged in groups 20-25, as shown in the wiring diagram, Fig. 3, and are in series with the lamps 15 - - 19. As the rotary switch 30 is turned, waves of light from the lamps drift across the gauzes 4 and produce the desired' effect.
