Abstract

1413632 Unloading viscous material; fluidizing R SOMMER 19 Jan 1973 [19 Jan 1972 6 June 1972] 2912/73 Headings B8E and B8A A vehicle 1 has a container 2 the bottom of which slopes to a feed screw 5 leading to an outlet 6 in turn leading to a feed pump 7, such as a screw pump, and to a mixing chamber 10. A compressor 11 through a reservoir 14 feeds compressed air through ducts in a plate 17 to an annular groove 21 leading to bores 22 ending in nozzles 22 which directs the air flow towards delivery conduit 20 thus entraining the material in small portions which do not clog the deliver conduit. An agitator may be provided at the outlet 6 to prevent clogging. The screw 5 is provided with radial blades in the region of the outlet 6. In a modified embodiment a branch air pressure line leads directly to the pump 7 through a valve which can be opened when the valve 15 controlling conduit 16 from the reservoir 14 is closed, thus building up pressure in the pump to blow back anything clogging the outlet 6.
