Abstract

1413556 Quay loading installation CREUSOT-LOIRE 24 April 1973 [19 May 1972] 19468/73 Heading B8E [Also in Division B7] Apparatus for positioning a belt conveyer 60 and lifting means on a quay 3 adjacent a ship and for manoeuvring the conveyer and lifting means into position for unloading comprises a tower 1 movable along the quay on rails 31 and a rear support rail 41 connected together by a beam 2 having arms 20, Fig. 3, each pivoted at 21 to the tower and at 23 to a bogie 24 resting by rollers 25 on the rail 41. A rigid bar 5 pivotally interconnects an upper strut 12 and a strut 22 pivoted on the bogie 24. The conveyer 60 can be raised and extended relative to the tower by winches 73, 76 acting through cables 71, 74. A beam 80 is movably mounted on a beam 16 of the tower 1 and an arch 43 mounted on a carriage 44 running on the rail 41 and adjustably connected by a bar 47 to the bogie 24 to move with it. A traveller or crab 83 runs by runners 81, 82 along the beam 80 and mounts a winch connectable to a load for lifting. The beam 80 is moved on runners 81, 82 by a motordriven pinion 84 engaging a rack while a motor 14 drives the tower along the quay.
