Abstract

1284365 Transporting special loads DEMAG AG 17 June 1970 [6 Sept 1969] 29411/70 Heading B7L [Also in Division C7] Metallurgical plant includes a track on which move a pair of trucks forming a carriage for a vessel such as a mixer, torpedo ladle or converter, the track encompassing an interchange station at which is located a device for raising the vessel from the carriage. In a particular embodiment mixer 1 is mounted by supports 4, 5 on trucks 6, 7, the latter being provided with pivots 8 and drive 9 for tilting, and driver's cabin 10. Units 8, 9 are carried on turntable 11 rotatable on pin 12 so that the truck may be coupled up in either direction. At station 2 there are lifting devices 15, 16 provided between the tracks, each consisting of a jack 17 with cross-bar 19, the latter having guide-rods 20, 21 sliding in guides 24 and being interconnected by longitudinal support beams 22. Alternatively at station 2 the vessel may be raised by cables 28, 29 suspended from an overhead hoist.
