Abstract

1412544 Cartographic globes SCAN-GLOBE A/S 3 Aug 1973 [8 Aug 1972] 37009/73 Heading G5G A cartographic globe comprises a translucent body 4; a light source 11 for effecting a general illumination of the globe surface; and an optical system including an apertured diaphragm 16 and a lens 15 for producing, in a selected location on the globe surface, a spot of light constituted by an image of the source 11. As shown, the source 11, the lens 15 and diaphragm 16 are mounted on an arm 8 supported on a fixed arm 5 for pivoting about a diameter 9 of the globe, the arm 8 being connected by way of pulleys 20, 22 and a belt 23 to an external adjustment ring 19. Further adjustment rings 29, 31 enable the globe body 4 to be rotated about the arm 5.
