Abstract

1412182 Graphite tube heating resistor SIGRI ELEKTROGRAPHIT GmbH 25 June 1973 [13 July 1972] 30166/73 Heading H5H A resistance heating element has an elongate graphite member with relatively cold terminal ends 2 and a tubular longitudinally curved heating length 1, in which the electrically conductive cross-sectional area is two to five times greater at the ends 2 than at the heating length 1. The ends 2 may have a tungsten or molybdenum rod connected to copper cables 5 screwed in. The heating part proper may have a meander, U or helical shape. The increased crosssectional area at the ends may be achieved by narrowing the bore (Fig. 3, not shown).
