Abstract

1412108 Grain separating D J FARRANT 22 Dec 1972 [23 Dec 1971 25 April 1972] 60052/71 and 19098/72 Heading A1F Grain and chaff passing over the end of the upper screen 13 of a pair is received by the mouth 19 of a fixture 18 defining a return duct which passes the grain via adjustable opening 20 into a grain duct 15 which returns it for rethreshing. The fixture 18 may be welded or bolted to the walls 12. The opening 20 may be adjusted by adjusting the position of the fixture 18 on the grain duct 15. A plate 21 may be hinged at 22 to wall 26 of the fixture 18 and be clamped by means of upper slot 24, for working hill sides; the plate 21 may rest on the inclined bottom wall of the fixture 18 and be clamped by lower slot 24 to form an inspection pocket for level working. Grain falling into grain duct 14 is delivered by an auger (not shown) to a grain tank. Air stream 10 feeds threshed grain and chaff over the upper screen 13, and air stream 9 passes up the ducts 14 and 15 and exhausts at 16.
