1411862 Concentrating phosphoric acid by evaporation PROREA 22 June 1973 [22 June 1972] 29910/73 Heading C1A [Also in Division B1] Aqueous phosphoric acid having a concentration equivalent to a P 2 O 5 content of 25-35% by weight is concentrated to 50-60% by weight by evaporation by introducing the solution at 17 at 2080 kg./hr. to tank 1 so that it passes in countercurrent to hot air at 500‹ C. introduced from duct 4 at 20,000 m<SP>3</SP>./hr., the air passing over the top of the solution. Stirrers 10 disperse drops of liquid in the gas, and device 21 measures the acid concentration and adjusts gas heater and flow controller 20 if necessary to achieve the desired concentration.
