1411703 Flavouring food and tobacco FIRFENICH SA 29 May 1973 [12 June 1972] 25442/73 Headings A2B and A2C ]Also in Divisions A5 C2 and C5] Foodstuffs and .tobacco compositions contain a flavourant of the formula: containing a single or a double bond in one of the positions indicated by the dotted lines and wherein the indexes m, n and p represent zero or 1, the symbols X when taken together represent an oxygen atom, or when taken separately one of them represents a hydroxyl or an O-acyloxy group and the other represents a hydrogen atom, and wherein i) the symbol R represents a C 1-6 alkyl group when both m and p are identical and equal to zero and m is 1; or ii) one of the symbols R and R' represents a C 1-6 alkyl group and the other is a hydrogen atom when both m and n are identical and equal to 1 and p is zero; or iii) one of the symbols R and R' represents a C 1-6 alkyl group and the other is a hydrogen atom when all indexes m, n and p are equal to 1, with the proviso that the symbols X are not taken together to represent an oxygen atom when one of the symbols R and R' represents a methyl group and the other a hydrogen atom, both indexes m and n represent 1 and p represents zero.
