1414704 Flavourings FIRMENICH SA 10 Oct 1973 [10 Oct 1972] 47417/73 Headings A2B and A2C [Also in Divisions A5, C2 and C5] Foodstuffs and tobaccos may be flavoured with compounds of the formula wherein the two symbols X together represent an oxygen atom, or one of them represents a hydrogen atom and the other represents a hydroxyl, acyl, acyloxy, hydroxymethyl, acyloxymethyl or alkoxycarbonyl group; and: (i) m = 0, n = 1, p= 0, R<SP>1</SP> represents a methyl group, and the nucleus contains a double bond at position 5-6; or (ii) m = 1, n = 1, p = 0, R' represents a methylene group, and the nucleus contains a single bond at position 5-6; or (iii) m = 1, n = 1, p = 1, one of R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> represents a methyl group and the other represents a hydrogen atom, and the nucleus contains a single bond at position 5-6.
