Abstract

1411248 Time switches LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS GmbH 29 Sept 1972 [30 Sept 1971 27 July 1972] 45168/72 Heading H1N A cam (7, or 102) which actuates a two-position contact rocker (8, or 105) is arranged to prevent the rocker moving back to its other position, as a result of shock, for example. As shown in Fig. 2, time-driven rotation of a shaft 3 is rendered stepwise by a star wheel (4, Fig. 1, not shown) with spring-pressed roller (6) such that noses of cam 7 impinge on lugs 16 and 17 alternately to snap the contact rocker 8 about its pivot 9. Overcentre tension spring 12 provides contact pressure, and between steps the nose of cam 7 remains behind the lug 16 or 17 which it has just acted upon to prevent snap back on rebound or shocks. The lug 16 is shorter than lug 17 and is closer to the pivot 9. A flexible connection 15 is provided to the moving contacts 8a and 8b. In the other embodiment a time-driven disc 112 (Fig. 4) carries detachable tappets 113a and 113<SP>1</SP>a which reciprocate cam 102 between positions located by a roller 104 on spring arm 103, an intermediate lever 114 enabling tappet 113a to move cam 102 oppositely to tappet 113<SP>1</SP>a. The flanks 102b and 102c of a notch 102a in cam 102 act alternately on lug 111 of contact rocker 105 to snap it over under action of overcentre leaf spring 109, and then remain in position to prevent rebound. A flexible connection (not shown) is provided to moving contacts 105a and 105b.
