Abstract

1411190 Colour photographic material stabilization FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 6 Dec 1973 [13 Dec 1972] 56710/73 Heading G2X A bleached and fixed colour image stabilization bath contains (i) at least one water-soluble zirconium salt and (ii) at least one polycarboxylic acid and/or at least one salt thereof. The zirconium salt may be zirconium sulphate, nitrate, chloride, oxysulphate, oxynitrate or oxychloride. The polycarboxylic acid may be citric, tartaric, oxalic, malonic, malic, succinic, glutaric, adipic, aconitic, itaconic, diglycolic or citraconic acid. The bath may contain at least one water-soluble compound having at least one aldehyde group and/or at least one water-soluble compound capable of forming formaldehyde e.g. formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde, succinaldehyde, glyoxal, acrolein, crotonaldehyde, N, N'-dimethyldurea, methylol diethanolamine or N-methylolhydantoin (see Example 2). The bath may contain benzoic acid or an alkali metal benzoate (see Example 2).
