Abstract
1411099 Automatic control of mixture constituents KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDTDEUTZ AG 13 Nov 1972 [13 Nov 1971] 52245/72 Heading G3R A method of producing a mixture with constant constituent composition from a plurality of raw materials which are premixed in measured quantities requires that the mixture is subjected to x-ray analysis and the dosage rate of a respective raw material is adjusted accordingly within a predetermined range to obtain the correct constituent composition in the mixture. If this adjustment is inadequate then the dosage rate of at least one other raw material is changed in a stepwise manner until the dosage rate of the respective raw material again falls within its range. In the circuit arrangement shown the raw materials pass through premixer 1 to analyzer 2 and the average output passes to control unit 7. The actual constituent values needed are in setting unit 6 and pass, as reference values, to comparator 7 so that any error signal passes to logic 9 after being added to the basic dosage rate at 8. If the change in rate is outside the predetermined range, control unit 10 is signalled and causes logic unit 11 to change in steps the proportion of the other raw materials in turn starting with the one containing the constituent which has the smallest influence on the mixture. The predetermined quantities are set in 5 and the changes are applied by summation devices 17, 18, 19, so that the actual requirement signalled from setting device 6 is changed. A residual minimum value is obtained from device 4.
