Abstract

1410859 Glass blowing machine AFORSGRUPPEN AB 24 Sept 1973 [25 Sept 1972] 44601/73 Heading C1M A glass blowing and moulding machine in which a gob is placed on one end of a blowing iron 3, inserted in a mould 7 and blown by directing air along the iron, is characterized by the provision of a vertically movable rotatable chuck 5 for supporting and rotating the iron; the chuck being provided with an axial passage for supplying blowing air. In use, a gob is provided on the end of the iron and the iron placed in a holder 4 provided with a pair of gripping rollers. At this time the chuck 5 is in a raised position and the mould 7 open. The chuck is then lowered and the mould closed, air then being blown down the iron while it is rotated.
