Abstract
1410501 Condenser SIEMENS .ELECTROGERATE GmbH 18 Sept 1972 [17 Sept 1971 23 Sept 1971 29 Sept 1971 5 Nov 1971 23 March 1972 (3)] 43186/72 Heading B1B [Also in Division F4] Moist air from a rotary drier 11 is circulated by fan 14 through filter 19 down pipe 20, up through condensing chamber 22 over ridged trays 23 over which cooling water flows out of chamber 22, past heater 13-and back into the drier. The cooling water cascades down over the trays 23 which may have (Fig. 2) to form ridges; a convexity 54 with a small drainage hole 56 on either side of an overflow pipe 52. The overflow pipes 52 extends to beneath the water level in the tray below or may have (Fig. 7 not shown) longitudinal and transverse corrugations to guide the water flow. The water flows into a sump 55. Condensation in the pipe 20 may be prevented by an insulating double wall between it and the chamber 22. The roof of the chamber 22 may have inclined surfaces 62, 64 to guide the air flow towards the upper tray 23 (Fig. 4). Surface 60 prevents turbulence but any droplets of water entrained in the air stream are removed on edges 66, 65, 61. In Fig. 3 (not shown) only the inclined surface 62, surface 60 and edge 61 are present. Solid waste caught on the filter 19 is moved along it by the rotation of the drier and through a slot extending across the filter (Fig. 5 not shown) into pipe 20 and separate from the air in chamber 22.
