Abstract

1409705 Comminuting apparatus ERWINKAMPF MASCHINENFABRIK 25 Feb 1974 [23 Feb 1973] 8440/74 Heading B2A A cutter roll 6 Fig. 1 for a strip granulator has a groove 9 Fig. 3 parallel with the roll axis to accommodate two elongate knives 8, 9 each seated by a longitudinal face on one of the two sides of the groove 9 so that opposing faces of the knives form an inwardly-tapering slot. The knives are clamped by a clamping wedge 10, which is itself held in place by screws 20. The knives are radially located by screws 18. As described 24 or more knives may be mounted on a single roll. The roll coacts with a counter knife 11, Fig. 1. Longitudinal cutting of the plastics strip is effected by coils 3, 4.
