1408776 Hand carts KOMMANDITBOLAGET RIGULAG AB & CO 30 Oct 1972 [29 Oct 1971 28 Sept 1972] 49948/72 Heading B7B In a transportation cart two spaced rectangular side walls are connected at one of their vertical side edges to an intermediate portion and are pivotal relative to each other, there being a wheel provided at each of the lowermost corners remote from the connecting edge of each side wall. In a preferred embodiment, Fig. 1, side walls 1, 2 are hinged to a rear wall 3 with castor wheels 5, 6 provided on the side walls 1, 2 and the rear wall 3 respectively. A bottom 4 which is hinged to the rear wall 3 may be released automatically to the folded down position where it engages hooks 9 on side walls 1, 2. For stacking with another cart the bottom 4 is folded up and the side walls are released for pivoting outwardly. The rear wall may be replaced by a rigid beam (not shown) which is pivotally connected to the side walls 1, 2. The bottom 4 may alternatively be hinged to the side walls or to the rigid beam. An additional wall 7, Fig. 1, may be hinged to either or both of the side walls. All the castor wheels may be mounted on the side walls, Fig. 2 (not shown). In a modification Fig. 3, side walls 1, 2 are rigidly connected to one half 3<SP>111</SP> of a third rear wall having a vertical hinge 10. In another embodiment, Fig. 5, side walls 1, 2 are interconnected by a resilient metal strip 30 and a pin and claw 18 connect wheel carrying plates 5<SP>1</SP> upon inward pivoting of the side walls. An additional wall 7, as shown in Fig. 1, may be provided. A further strip 30<SP>11</SP>, Fig. 7, may connect the side walls in each of which is provided a recess 19 for strips 30<SP>11</SP> of another cart to pass along for stacking purposes. A single strip (30<SP>111</SP>), Fig. 8 (not shown), and corresponding recesses 19 may be provided half way up the height of the cart. The strips 30, 30<SP>1</SP>, 30<SP>11</SP> may be hinged along their midlengths. The cart may have three wheels instead of four, the third being carried by the rear wall 3, Fig. 1, or on a mounting adjacent the hinge 10, Fig. 3.
