Abstract
1408461 Abrasive finishing METALLGESELLSCHAFT AG 20 Oct 1972 [21 Oct 1971] 48553/72 Heading B3D Apparatus, e.g. for treating zinc or aluminium castings or stampings with a medium including particles or elements of metal, ceramic, etc., comprises a vessel having nozzles 8 through which a liquid may be injected under pressure to cause a circulatory flow in a required direction. The liquid, e.g. non-foaming sodium chloride solution for aluminium sheet workpieces, may be injected through a manifold 7 at about 25 kg./cm.<SP>2</SP>, and excess is discharged through an overflow (15), Fig. 4 (not shown). The vessel may be supported within a tank-like frame 5, overflow liquid entering the frame to be recirculated through a pump intake pipe 17, and a flap 16 is provided for removing the workpieces and abrasive to a separating means.
