Abstract
1408256 Glass frit; alumina compositions E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 8 Feb 1974 05906/74 Headings C1M and C1A A glass frit consists essentially of, in weight per cent A dielectric composition for forming ceramic substrates may comprise 75-97% by weight alumina and 3-25% of the glass frit, the glass acting as a sintering or densification aid for the alumina. The dielectric composition, preferably of average particle size 1-5 microns, may be applied as a slurry to a substrate, dried, and sintered in air below 1550‹ C. (preferably at 1450-1500‹ C.). The high-alumina ceramic formed may then be removed from the substrate (which may be polyester film). The slurry is preferably in water, and additives may be present, e.g. trisodium polyphosphate, methyl cellulose and acrylic ester.
