Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a filter having an excellent stability and good filtering efficiency, by coating the surface of a refractory fibered substrate with the mixture of silicone resin and ultrafine ceramic powder, and curing and backing the applied mixture.
CONSTITUTION: Emulsion or suspension-type paint, prepared by blending a mixture comprising 10W80wt% of silicone resin, 10W70wt% of impalpable ceramic powder having a particle size of 325meshes or less, 0W40wt% of low-melting point glass frit and 0W10wt% of a paint-forming agent in a disperser, and adding an inorganic solvent or water to the mixture, is applied to the surface of a reticulated refractory fibered substrate. After the substrate is coated with the paint, the applied paint is cured for 30W90min at 150W250°C and then backed for 0.5W5hr at 400W600°C, thereby obtaining a desired filter. Thus, a filter is formed.
