1407090 Boxes BELGISCHE WERKHUIZEN VYNCKIER Gebr 10 Oct 1972 [12 Oct 1971] 46677/72 Heading B8P [Also in Division F2] In a box comprising at least two parts firmly joined to one another so that their edges overlap, the edge of one part comprises, on that side engaging the facing edge of the other part, a completely empty groove for collecting dust and moisture which extends over the whole length of said edge of the one part, and the space between the overlapping edges is sealed along their whole length on the side of the groove nearest the exterior of the box. The seal comprises a sealing strip 23 located in a further groove. The box is erected from a base, cover, two side walls, and front and back walls. The base comprises a middle portion 1, one pair of opposed edges, each consisting of parts 2, 3 and including grooves 4, 5, and a second pair of opposed edges 8. The rear wall which comprises a middle portion 19 and channels defined by ribs 21 and peripheral edges 20, is engaged and secured to the base by a screw threaded pin 12 and nut, as shown in Fig. 2. Each side wall comprises a middle portion 13, top and bottom edges including grooves 4 and comprising parts 16, 17, and lateral edges having substantially the same configurations as the edges 2, 3 of the base. The side walls are interengaged and secured to the rear wall in a manner similar to the connection between the base and the rear wall. The bottom edge 16, 17 of each side wall is fitted into a channel defined by the upstanding edges 8 and ribs 9 of the base and is secured as shown in Fig. 3. The front wall, which defines a frame around an opening for a door, includes a middle-portion 24 and an edge 25 extending at right angles thereto. The front wall is engaged with and secured to the base and the sides as illustrated at the bottom right hand corner of Fig. 2 in relation to its connection with the bottom wall. The door is hinged to the middle-portion 24 and includes a peripheral U-shaped channel in which a plastics sealing strip 32 lies. The cover is similar to the base and is engaged with and secured to the front, back and side walls in the same manner as the base. The box may be made wholly from plastics material.
