Abstract

1406706 Coating apparatus ROTHMANS INTERNATIONAL LTD 27 April 1973 24456/ 72 Heading B2L Adhesive passing from a bore 2 through a nozzle 3 is heated by a jet of air 14 from an outlet 13 as it contacts the substrate to be coated. The block 1 having the bore 2 is heated to melt the adhesive and air in chamber 11 is heated by conduction from the block 1 before exiting from nozzle 13. Air entering under the control of the coating apparatus, acts on a diaphragm 7 against the action of a spring 8 to control an outlet valve 6. Some of the air is passed through a variable by-pass valve 9 to enter chamber 11.
