Abstract

1406175 Electric watches DAINI SEIKOSHA KK 20 March 1973 [21 March 1972] 13361/73 Heading G3T In an electric watch, movement of a setting stem 3, Fig. 1, to its outer position causes displacement of a lever 1 to bring a projection 1a thereon into contact with a friction disc 23 coupled to the gear train and to move a switching member 5 out of contact with a fixed pin 9, thus opening the watch driving circuit. As shown the lever 1 is pivoted at 2 and carries a pin 4 engaging a slot 5b in the member 5 which is pivoted on a pin 7 . A spring 10 biases the lever 1 to the switch open position. The gear train is an indirect centreseconds train in which a driving element (not shown) drives a fourth wheel and pinion (also not shown) and thus a third wheel and pinion 15, 14 which respectively mesh with a pinion 19 on a centre-seconds shaft 18 and a minute wheel 20 frictionally coupled to a cannon and pinion 21. When the stem is pulled out, the engagement of the disc 23 brakes the wheel 15 and thus the seconds hand shaft 18 and rotation of the stem causes setting of the minutes and hours hands (not shown) via a setting wheel (not shown) engaging the cannon pinion. Pushing in the stem frees the train and re-energizes the driving circuit.
