Abstract

1405999 Fluid gear machines H L McDERMOTT 6 Dec 1973 56576/73 Heading F1F [Also in Division F2] In an internally meshing positive-displacement gear machine (e.g. of the n and n+1 tooth type), the externally toothed gear 13 has an axial opening therethrough receiving a shaft 24 with an enlarged internally toothed end 29, the drive-shaft 16 having a similarly enlarged internally toothed end 18, an oblique connector 25 having teeth 31, 32 at each end, connecting the two shafts, the pitch circle diameters of the toothed ends 18, 29 and connector teeth 31, 32 being substantially greater than the diameter of the axial opening in gear 13. In another embodiment the two shaft ends have external teeth, the connector being hollow and cylindrical.
