Abstract

Bellows.-A doubleacting bellows comprises two outer boards rigidly connected, and a hinged middle board dividing the bellows into two air chambers which discharge through a common nozzle divided longitudinally; the lower chamber draws air in through a valve in the lower board, and the upper chamber through a valved pipe connected with an aperture in the lower board. As shown, the outer boards are connected by an iron rod A. Air is drawn into the lower chamber through a hole in the lower board covered by a loose leather, and into the upper chamber through a tube D of leather &c. ending in holes E, F in the lower and middle boards, the hole F being covered by a loose leather. The nozzle I is divided longitudinally.
