Abstract

1405287 Thermal packages NATIONAL RESEARCH INDUSTRIES Inc 6 Sept 1972 [7 Sept 1971] 41314/72 Heading B8C [Also in Division F4] A thermal package comprises a rupturable inner container B closed by a seal 66 and housing a liquid actuant, a middle container C housing a chemical reactant and closed by a seal 70 which secures the inner container within one end of the middle container, and an outer container D closed by a seal 78 securing the inner container and the middle container to one end of the outer container. A seam 28 closing the bottom of the inner container is rupturable. The reactant may be ammonium nitrate for reacting endothermically or calcium iodide for reacting exothermically.
