Abstract

1405274 Mineral mining installation GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA 22 Sept 1972 [23 Sept 1971] 43948/72 Heading E1F A mineral mining installation comprises an endless traction member 9 used for driving and/or cutting purposes and arranged for circulatory movement in relation to a mineral face 4 and driven by at least three motors 12 arranged along the length of the working, and a scraper-chain conveyor 2 arranged alongside at least part of the traction member. The member 9 is a chain consisting of interconnected elements 9' having cutters 7 on one side and teeth 10 for engaging motor-driven pinions 11 on the other side. The motors 12 are located in a guide member 1 on the face side of the conveyor 2; alternatively, Fig. 2 (not shown), they may be on the stowage side of the conveyor, and be connected to pinions (11') by drive shafts (18) extending through the conveyor. The motors 12 are hydraulic and are fed frrom a common source through conduit 14.
