Abstract

1405037 Alpha-numeric displays FIARCHILD CAMERA & INSTRUMENT CORP 20 July 1973 [16 Nov 1972] 34689/73 Heading G5C A character display device comprises a plurality of LED's, light guides 24 extending from the LED's through a block 23 to form a figure of eight array and a composite lens comprising a plurality of fly's eye leses extending over the guides. The LED's are mounted on a metal plate 18 forming a common electrode and are also connected to leads 20 which extend out and plug into a printed circuit board. The plate 18 is covered with a block insulating sheet and the guides are coated with a reflecting layer of Au. The member 25 may be coloured.
