Abstract

1404906 Air filters DEERE & CO 2 July 1973 [4 July 1972] 31460/73 Heading BIT [Also in Division F1] An internal combustion engine 21 is provided with a self-cleaning filter 35 for filtering the air used in cooling radiator 22, which filter, in use, rotates past chamber 43 where it filters air drawn in by fans 23, and chamber 42 where is it cleaned by an outward flow of air which has been forced through radiator 22 by fan 23. The filter drum 35 is mounted on rollers 39, one of which is mounted on driven shaft 29. Alternatively the drum 35 may be driven by a positive drive involving gear teeth. Seals 46 are provided between the radiator 22 and drum 35. In Fig 1 (not shown) the filter drum is divided by a partition and is separate from the radiator to which it is connected by conduits.
