Abstract

1,021,638. Gas-filters. SVENSKA FLAKT-FABRIKEN A.B. July 9, 1964 [July 12, 1963], No. 28424/64. Heading B1T. A frame-mounted gas filter I is cleaned by a suction head 6, having a suction slot 7 coacting with the filter, the head 6 reciprocating along the length of the filter and communicating with a slot 4 in suction box 3, in which slot 4 head 6 is mounted, box 3 being connected to a suction fan by duct 5. The slot 4 is covered by a flexible steel strip 15 which is pressed aside by a cam 16 on head 6 to allow communication between opening 8 to slot 7 and the inside of box 3. Head 6 is moved on an endless chain 9, by a reversible motor driving shaft 14, chain 9 carrying a plate 17 which closes duct 5 in one position of head 6, enabling several cleaning devices to operate sequentially using a common fan.
