Abstract

1404742 Electric incandescent lamps NURVA VEB 4 Feb 1974 [5 Feb 1973] 05009/74 Heading H1F A lamp filament comprises a central coil portion 10, a first end portion 11 in the form of a further coil which is coaxial with the coil 10 and is adapted to be welded to a first lead-in electrode, and a second end portion 12 in the form of a straight wire which is tangential to the coil 10, is set at an angle to the coil axis and is adapted to be welded to a second lead-in electrode. During lamp manufacture the coil 11 is first mounted on its electrode so as to be rotatable and slidable thereon and the position of the filament is then adjusted to locate the coil 10 and to bring the wire 12 into contact with the other electrode without thereby inducing any stresses in the filament. The end portions are then welded to the respective electrodes.
