1404145 Apparatus for inserting rod-like articles into a container MOLINS Ltd 21 July 1972 [2 Aug 1971] 717/75 Divided out of 1404141 Heading B8C The subject-matter of this Specification is identical with that described with reference to Figs. 1-8, 14, 15, and 16-20A in the parent Specification 1,404,141, but the claims are concerned with an apparatus for inserting rod-like articles into a container comprising means for feeding a stream of rod-like articles in a direction transverse to their lengths; batch-forming means for successively forming articles from the stream into batches, the batch forming means including an endless conveyer and spaced retaining means associated with the conveyer for defining the batches of articles on the conveyer, each batch comprising a stack of articles bounded at its ends by the retaining means, a loading station, means for conveying a succession of containers through the loading station; and means for transferring successive batches of articles from the conveyer into a container at the loading station.
