Abstract

1401992 Packages NAUTILOID CORP 4 July 1972 [4 Aug 1971] 54812/74 Divided out of 1401991 Heading B8C A packaging and dispensing device consists of a carrier web 10 which is of varying compressibility across its thickness such that layers 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 are progressively more compressible, the web being rolled up in spiral form to trap and hold articles 26 within the convolutions, as surface 14 is compressed locally to receive each article. The web is releasably held in the coiled position by a layer or patches of adhesive 30. Alternatively, the carrier web may be folded against itself in zig-zag form as in Fig. 3, the least compressible layer here being formed medially at 46 in the web. Perforations allow the web to be torn off adjacent each article.
