Abstract

1401503 Steam and hot air treatment of garments BAKER PERKINS JAXONS Ltd 30 Jan 1974 [1 Nov 1972] 50344/72 Heading D1L Washed or dry cleaned synthetic textile garments are treated with steam and then hot air in a cabinet wherein two rows of garments are conveyed through steam and hot air chambers suspended on hangars, the garments being loaded onto and unloaded from the conveyors automatically. The garments may be loaded (see Fig. 8) by placing the hooks 20 of the hangars on a rotationally oscillating inclined bar 19 which alternate pegs 33. and 34 positioned at 90‹ to each other, the oscillation causing the hooks to move down the bar and engage the hooks 21 of the conveyor. The garments may be unloaded (see Fig. 7) by engagement of hangar hooks 20 with an inclined bar 22. The steam chamber (see Fig. 5 not shown) may have two opposing vertical steam pipes 24 provided with nozzles 23. The hot air chamber (see Fig. 6 not shown) may. be provided with hot air circulated using fan 29, the air being heated electrically 32 or with a steam heated exchanger 31.
