Abstract

1400880 Appliances for the blind POLSKIE ZAKLADY OPTYCZNE 30 Nov 1972 [18 Dec 1971] 55400/72 Heading G5G An electro-ophthalmic device for use by the blind comprises an arcuate mounting 3 held in a frame 1 pivotally attached to the arms 2 of a helmet. The mounting 3 is provided with holes for pins 5 and with a plurality of openings 13 adapted to receive pulsators which are held in position by the pins 5. Each pulsator comprises a plastics bobbin 6 formed with serrations as shown, a winding 8 and a spring biased plunger 9. In use, the helmet is worn by a blind person and the pulsators are slidably adjusted in their openings so that with the help of a spacer 12, the plungers 9 are appropriately positioned with respect to the person's forehead; the pins 5 are then inserted and co-operate with the serrations to fix the pulsators in the desired positions.
