One flange of the channel is deeper than the other and a light diffuser 15 extends therebetween and deflects most of the light to one side of the fence. Plastics posts may be used in which case each post has an anchor pin extending through the base at right angles thereto and the lower section of the post is cemented in the ground. The fence may be used for defining a garage forecourt.
