Abstract

1400520 Dispensers LAI CHI KEUNG [trading as CHI SHING CO] 15 Oct 1973 [28 Nov 1972] 55019/72 Heading B8P A dispenser for cigarettes, matches, &c. comprises a hopper 2 and a dispenser member 5 which slides through a slot in the hopper floor between a first position above the hopper floor and a second position level with the floor, the dispenser member 5 being biased towards the first position. The member 5 is rigidly connected to a plunger 8 which extends through an aperture in an outer casing 1. When the plunger 8 is depressed against the action of a spring 12 the member 5 is lowered to the hopper floor so that a cigarette will fall into a groove 7 in the upper edge of the member 5. When the plunger is released the cigarette is lifted to a slot 15 in the outer casing 1. One end 21 of the grooved edge 7 of the member 5 is cut away so that when a cigarette is lifted to the slot 15 it will be tipped up. As the plunger 8 is depressed a wire spring is forced away from the base of the hopper and then freed to snap back against the hopper and so agitate the contents. In a modification, projections, rigidly connected to the dispenser member 5, pass through apertures in the hopper floor to agitate the contents.
